FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert min/km to mph?
Divide 60 by your pace in minutes per km to get km/h, then divide by 1.609 to get mph. For example, 5:00/km = 12 km/h = 7.46 mph. This converter handles the math automatically.
Why is my open-water swim pace slower than pool pace?
Open water adds sighting, navigation, currents, and drafting dynamics that are absent in a pool. A 5-15% slowdown is typical and expected.
Are the race time projections accurate?
They assume constant pace on a flat course. Real race times are affected by terrain, fatigue, pacing strategy, and conditions. Use projections as directional planning references, not guarantees.
Which discipline has the biggest impact on triathlon finish time?
The bike leg typically accounts for the most time in a triathlon. Small speed improvements on the bike tend to save more total time than equivalent improvements in swimming.
