How important are transitions in triathlon?

At sprint and Olympic distances, transitions can represent 3-5% of total race time. A poorly executed transition can cost more time than you gain from expensive equipment upgrades.

What is the fastest way to remove a wetsuit?

Apply body glide to wrists, ankles, and neck before the race. Start pulling down from the back immediately after exiting the water. Step on the legs to pull them off rather than using your hands.

Should I practice transitions in training?

Yes. Include full transitions in your brick workouts (bike-to-run). Even 5 minutes of practice each week builds muscle memory that saves 30-60 seconds on race day.
